If you’re reading this blog and you’re realizing that you don’t have a slow cooker, I’ll wait for you to run out and get one, but before you go I need to ask you a very important question…What have you been waiting for?!
I am one of the laziest people on the planet, especially when I get home from work. The last thing I want to do is prep and cook an entire meal. I want dinner to be ready when I get home so I can throw on my pajamas and eat. Unfortunately, not all of us have someone that stays home and cooks for us while we are hard at work. Trust me, if I won the lottery, a personal chef would be the first thing I got. The next best, and cheaper alternative to a personal chef is a slow cooker. This isn’t a revelation, you guys. Slow cookers have been around for like, a long time.
You wake up in the morning to go to work and you’re already up for the day. Why not just throw a bunch of stuff in your slow cooker, let it cook all day and come home to a meal that’s ready to eat? If you can find a downside to that let me know because I can’t. It works the same way on the weekends, too. If you’ve got a lot of errands to run, let your slow cooker do all the work for you while you’re out getting your nails done, err, I mean, getting groceries. You can make appetizers, side dishes, soups, main courses and DESSERTS! Yeah, I said it. Desserts.
While the possibilities are seemingly endless, I’ve picked out a few of my favorite slow cooker recipes courtesy of the Mr. Food Test Kitchen. These recipes are great for any occasion, or no occasion. Who really needs a reason to eat something delicious that requires little to no work?
